In our collective effort to engage with anti-racism and decolonization, and to dismantle the intersectionalities of anti-blackness and related systems of oppression, my goal is to channel resources into supporting Black, Brown, and Indigenous folk locally.
100% of the profits will be donated to 2 organizations engaging in anti-racism and restorative justice work locally. The first of the two is The Black Resilience Fund, providing reparations to BIPOC in Oregon (including but not limited to financial assistance for housing, food, medical, and education) created by Brown Hope, an organization that has led community-grounded initiatives to make justice a lived experience for black, brown, and indigenous people in Oregon. The other organization is Don't Shoot PDX, which provides direct community education workshops, supports the outreach and presence of trauma-informed first respondents, as well as bystander intervention work and community advocacy.
This bronze piece was hand-carved and locally cast here in Portland, OR with lots of love and care.
